JFOC Architects have been associated with a number of high quality residential developments for various clients in Hollystown, Co. Dublin. These include Hollystown Demense and Park, Chapelton, Alderwood, Chapelwood and Redwood. All of these developments were distinctive and characterful, adding to the village of Hollystown in different ways.
A variety of detached, semi- detached and terraced dwellings (160) were constructed between 2006 and 2009 at Chapelwood, Chapelton and Alderwood. The traditional style, with contemporary elements was in keeping with the village nature of the location with unified elevational treatment utilising a limited palette of materials – facing brick & self-coloured / painted render finish to external walls, timber framed doors and windows, and slate roof finish. High roof pitches allowed for the conversion of the attics in many of these houses, giving efficient and sustainable levels of accommodation, and a strong and attractive streetscape. The development retained many of the attractive existing mature trees and hedgerows, and on completion almost 70% of the units provided enjoy an open aspect onto one of these public open spaces to add to the quality and amenity of the new neighbourhood. A high quality purpose built crèche was designed and constructed in tandem with the dwellings, and this provides a valuable amenity to the community.
